Chanand. The Essence Of Happiness. The Skincare Routine In 3 Steps For Sensitive Skin.

When it comes to choosing your skincare routine, usually fewer products are better for your sensitive skin. If you like to have a lot of skin care products at home, be honest with yourself and see if you use them all, and are you using them with the frequency and in the right order? Or maybe you’ve heard that an effective care routine requires using a lot of products? Unfortunately, more often than not, a routine based on numerous products has several disadvantages.

Disadvantages of skincare routine with too many products:

  • Wrong order of using the products.
  • You do not use them with the necessary frequency, which leads to the lack or reduction of the desired results.
  • Some products expire before they are finished, or even worse, you don’t know when they were opened and some may have passed the PAO (period after opening).
  • The routine has many steps, but essential steps are missing.
  • Wrong combination of cosmetic products or actives. For example, chemical exfoliation with physical exfoliation or retinoids with Vitamin C.
  • You risk using two products that have a common cosmetic active and their sum exceeds the optimal concentration.

Most of the people who ask me for my opinion on the personal care products they use have products that need to be removed from their routine or replaced. The main reasons being products that are too aggressive for their skin, and the fact that some ingredients or products are unsuitable for their skin’s needs. I know it’s difficult to whittle your skincare stock down to just the essentials, since you often don’t know what to keep and what not.

We are bombarded with so much information about different skincare ingredients, routines and treatments that it can be difficult to distinguish which ones are best for our skin type and which ones we really need.

But, it’s important to clean, organize and simplify your skin care routine.
After you do it and feel the benefits on your own skin, you don’t want to go back to the twisted routine, with a bunch of products, which still don’t give results. Bonus, the resulting storage space is welcome.

The “less is more” principle should also be taken into account for the skincare routine. That is, you focus on the essential steps in skin care, which will bring you the maximum of the desired effects.

Let’s not forget that the skin is an organ with functions well established by human biology, and our duty is to provide the skin with the best conditions for it to function properly.

A minimalist skin care routine is always a better option, with the following advantages:

  • You are no longer confused by the multitude of personal care products and you are focused on the essential steps.
  • The routine has few products that are also effective.
  • Since it consumes little time, it increases the chances of being consistent with the skincare routine, that is, doing it every morning and evening. Consistency is one of the essential elements for a personal care routine to produce results.
  • You can take it with you on vacation and it doesn’t take up much space in your luggage.
  • You save time.
  • You save money.
  • Save space in the bathroom.
  • The minimalist routine is extremely popular right now.
  • Because, it helps to keep sensitive skin in its best condition, with only the essential products. Thus, there is no reason for the skincare routine to be complicated!

There are 3 skincare products that should not be missing from your skin care routine, regardless of skin type or age:

  • Cleanser
  • Serum
  • Moisturizing product
A cleanser that creates the sensation of “holding” skin should be avoided. Such aggressive products change the pH, unbalance the microbiome and the skin’s natural protective barrier. These lead to red, irritated, dehydrated and lifeless skin. Effective skin cleansing can be achieved using a product with a creamy texture that is gentle on the skin.

Hydration is essential in maintaining health and strengthening the skin’s natural protective barrier.
Therefore, products with a high ethanol content, or containing unnecessary ingredients for the proper functioning of the skin such as mineral oils and silicones, should be avoided.

So, in order to maintain healthy skin using only the essential products, I recommend the simple routine, consisting of only 3 steps.
